Santo Padre

Sent to David by his breeder’s Tom and Cathy Burns of Victor Stud, Santo Padre was not the easiest to train and didn’t make his debut until he was a four-year-old. However, it didn’t take long to justify the patience of his connections, winning four of his first nine starts including the prestigious Portland Handicap at Doncaster in 2009. After that, he proved to be a consistent performer at Listed/Group 3 level, winning a Listed race at Naas in April 2012. He was retired at the conclusion of that season with career earnings of £130,000.
